MINT - Museum of Toys - Yebber's 1st Anniversary
On Friday, it was an honour to be invited to Yebber’s 1st anniversary event. For those who do not know, Yebber.com is an online community site that essentially allows users to write reviews and recommendations, and those who wish to search for information on where to go or what to eat among many others.
The event was held in Mint (Moment of Imagination and Nostalgia with Toys) – Museum of Toys, across from Raffles Hotel. Showcasing an extensive collection of vintage toys from all over the world, it is regarded as one of the finest in the world and the largest in Southeast Asia.
At the basement was Mint Café – Asia’s very first toy-themed café.
I arrived early and did a quick tour of the place before the event started at the 3rd Level and was greeted with toys and characters that I was familiar with – from Popeye to Ultraman, to retro Matchbox car collectibles, Kampung toys and even the Beatles.
All the guests were later treated to a sumptuous buffet dinner consisting of Parmesan Crusted Chicken, Seafood Platter (Calamari, Dory Fillet, & Scallops), Bruschetta (Wild Mushrooms, Tomato Checca & Salmon Cream), and Linguini with Crab Sauce.
Personally, I thought the Wild Mushroom Bruschetta was the best – the toast was crispy and the mushrooms were flavoursome. I bet the salmon cream ones were just as great but unfortunately, I didn’t managed to lay my hands on them before they were cleared out. Oh, the desserts were pretty lovely as well, especially the Strawberry Panna Cotta - the sourish berries was a delightful complement to the sweet pudding.
The night ended with the cake cutting ceremony by the “3 Jokers” of Yebber - Leon, Darren and Stewart (L-R).
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Claudia for the invite for this wonderful nostalgic evening.

Ahh! The toys!! Nice shots! I want to go back again to take photos! And yes! The food was great!! I missed out on the good stuff! Salmon bruschetta and the panna cotta! Anyone organising another event at mint? I want to go attend!! =P

Hmm. It's quite surprising that the food seems to be of a high quality, considering that it looks to be the standard mass-produced buffet thingy.
One question. Erm. Not regarding food. =P Is there like an entrance fee to this Mint Museum of Toys? Thinking of paying them a visit for the longest time but never got down to it. Lazy la. keke. =P
claud: Yah I wanna eat the Salmon bruschetta. Any idea whether they sell it at the cafe? It looks really good.

As for the food, I was pretty disappointed with the chicken and the dory fish. Both were equally tasteless and would have been better if the meat were marinated.
Oh but I was impressed that real crab meat was used for the Pasta. I was expecting some crab stick kinda meat.
Admission charges are $15 for adult, $7.50 for child between 2 to 12 yrs old & senior citizen 60 yrs old and above. Child under 2 yrs old enters for free.
The chicken not nice meh? Many told me it was nice leh. The buffet spread was specially catered to the event. And I think they're in their ala carte menu too.
Just a point to note, the ticket price is at 50% from now till end April. $15/entry will start from 1st May. So go before they increase their price. :)
The crust was good but chicken could have been better - me and FZ couldn't taste the Parmesan and I felt the meat was tasteless.
Oh really? Hmm... perhaps can make a trip back to the museum.
