Salt Caramel Roll, Arinco King
What's a trip to ION Orchard without sampling this much-hyped about Japanese styled Swiss Roll. As Kiasu as a Singaporean, HFB placed an advanced order (as the cakes are said to be sold out before noon) and collected the much coveted Salt Caramel Roll ($18.00) - WOOHOO!!
At first glance, the caramel-overloaded roll looks so darn delicious! The texture of the cake was definitely way softer and lighter than most HFB have tried, coupled with the contrasting taste and texture of the burnt brittle caramel in the middle and VIOLA! Trust the Japanese to come out with a food offering like that.
However for all of it's merit, HFB felt that it wasn't worth the price and the advance ordering system that Arinco King has set up.

thanks for the review HFB :) guess i'll give it a miss. no point wasting $ on hype.
Ignore my earlier message. Type too fast got typo.
I agreed. I tried their cake sample. Their swiss roll is really very light, but it does not really make me want to eat them again. Don't think it will create hype in Singapore.
Wonder whether Singaporeans like us are more picky or that the Japs simply get excited over small small things. Ha Ha.
@Ayie: You can always try it when you visit Singapore :D
@WYT: It's actually good for a try. Heh, but I wouldn't go crazy over it
@Photosophize: There's already a hype! Everyone is queuing up to pre-order it!
oh this one, read from Nic's blog. :)
salty caramel roll. yeah.. trust the Japanese to come up with something wacky.
:)
Agree. They are always so creative and inventive when it comes to food and everything else.
